Hi, I’m Sharon Mahan and I Help Busy Mamas Simplify Their Healthy Lifestyle Choices, Without Making Their Family Crazy!
After my son was diagnosed with autism in 2006 and I learned the role that everyday toxins played in his development, I felt really alone. I’ve always empowered myself through research, and the more I read, the more I found explanations for my own health issues … chronic headaches, chemical sensitivity, food intolerances and depression.
So began my journey.
Like most people facing a health crisis, I started with food and clean eating. Then it was high quality, expensive supplements. I began searching for nontoxic personal care products, but found virtually no safe options available.
I remember standing in the grocery store reading label after label, literally crying at the realization that all processed food is garbage, personal and home care products are filled with toxins, and buying pretty much anything at the store was not in my family’s best interest.
I did the best I could by scouring the internet, shopping online and at the local health food store, and spending a ton of money on products that either smelled awful or just didn’t work ... or even worse, still contained harmful ingredients!
My family began to think I was crazy, and most of my friends couldn’t relate. Holidays were particularly challenging because of the special considerations my child and I needed. My frustration grew more intolerable day in and day out, and I felt more and more alone.
Fast forward to 2014, during an incredibly stressful time fighting the school district for what my son needed, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I was 43 years old, with no known genetic risk factors. I found renewed interest in researching the issue of environmental toxins, and learned a TON in the process.
I found that the body absorbs chemicals via the skin and lungs.
And I discovered that even when genetics load the proverbial gun, it's often environment that pulls the trigger ... not only for cancer, but for many ailments including autism, asthma, allergies, infertility and more.
While recovering from chemotherapy, I tripped on an opportunity that gave me a platform to share knowledge I had become passionate about. It was a direct sales business, but as much as I loved sharing the products, I found the most satisfaction in teaching others about an important aspect of wellness that often goes overlooked … the issue of avoiding harmful chemicals in everyday products.
I started putting my BA in Communication, my MBA in Marketing, and my pre-mom corporate experience to work. I've found that these credentials give me unique insight that enables me to teach others about this complex issue so that they too can make the safest possible choices.
It’s now my mission to help busy mamas simplify their healthy lifestyle choices by providing focused research and solutions that empower them to make the safest choices, without making their family crazy!
